Bravo's "Top Chef D.C."

Another season of Top Chef is heating up in DC, and EDGE previewed the first episode to get a glimpse of its cast and challenges.

In typical fashion, 17 new chefs are gathered to compete in our nation's capital to compete in the ultimate cooking challenge, Top Chef. The chefs this season range from the weird (John Somerville) to the expert (Angelo Sosa), and the rest fall in between.

The first quickfire was a mise en place, where the competitors were slowly eliminated through tasks like peeling taters and chopping onions. They were then tasked with having to cook hometown-inspired dishes for a banquet full of people. Naturally, craziness ensues, and Tom, Padma, and Gail have to judge the good, the bad and the inedible. When all is said and done, it's not a shocker who wins and who loses.

All in all, this looks to be another landmark season with several incredible chefs from across the nation. Top Chef will be running this summer on Bravo on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m.
