Is 2013 the year of the comeback?
Over the weekend two pop titans, Justin Timberlake and Destiny's Child, released songs that have many fans feeling like they've been sent back to the 90s.
On Friday, Beyonc, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, graced the world with their first original song in over eight years as Destiny's Child. "Nuclear," a 90s throw back jam, will be featured on their upcoming greatest hits album, "Love Songs," which is set to be released on Jan. 29. Pharrell Willaims produced the track that features the trio singing lovelorn lyrics over a jungle drum break beat. The song was also launched in order to gear up fans for DC's reunion on the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 3.
While the women dropped their new cut on the Internet, Timberlake decided to tease fans before unleashing his first song in about six years. Last week, JT tweeted a cryptic message on Twitter, then posted a YouTube video titled, "I'm Ready," where the pop star/actor talks about his absence from the music world. The video also contained a link to a countdown that ended on Sunday at midnight. When the time came, the "Sexy Back" singer delivered and posted the stellar "Suit & Tie," which features a verse by Jay-Z, to his website. In an open letter, he also announced that his next album would be called "The 20/20 Experience."
Timbaland produced the Marvin Gaye ode but it has not been reported when JT's long awaited follow up to "FutureSex/LoveSounds" will be released.
