HBO execs aren't too happy that people have been uploading "Game of Thrones" sex scenes to one of the most popular porn sites on the Internet, the BBC reports.
Though "Game of Thrones" is known for its ultra-violent scenes, the Emmy Award-winning series also entices fans with its hot-and-heavy sex scenes, some of which have found their way onto PornHub. The news that these steamy scenes are on the X-rated streaming site has gotten the attention of HBO execs.
"HBO is aware of the issue and is in the process of getting material taken down from PornHub," the network said in a statement.
PorhHub's vice president also commented on the issue, telling the BBC the site removes illegal material as soon as its aware of the infringement.
"Pornhub is fully compliant with the law," said Corey Price. "We respect all copyright requests and once received immediately remove any infringing content, as well as offer content fingerprinting to block infringing content from being uploaded by content owners."
It should be noted PornHub published data last month, showing "Game of Thrones" is very popular among its users. Some of the company's most popular search terms are main characters from the fantasy series. The report also showed that traffic on the site peaked at 370% on April 24 - the Season Six premier of "Game of Thrones." Additionally, the site's traffic reportedly drops by 4% when "Game of Thrones" is not on the air.
