'Big Brother' Bro Comes Under Fire for Gay Remarks, Horrific 'Goat Story'

"Big Brother" 18 is fully underway and one contestant is upsetting some fans of the CBS reality series for telling a violent story about a goat and for making comments being deemed homophobic.
Corey Brooks, a baseball coach from Dallas, is one of the 16 players on the current "Big Brother" season and might be the show's most controversial -- for all the wrong reasons. Fans of "Big Brother" have been watching the show's online 24/7 live feeds, which allow them to view the houseguests anytime they want. And some fans are crying foul over comments made by Brooks, 25, regarding sexuality.
"Big Brother" fan websites and Twitter accounts, which offer live updates on what's going on in the house, spotted Brooks being worried about fans questioning his sexuality. He's clarified a number of times that he's not gay. Big Brother Leak tweeted about an instance when Brooks, who called himself "extraordinary, passionate, and lovable" in his CBS profile, was apparently flirting with fellow houseguest Jozea Flores, who is gay. When Brooks learned the live feeds were turned on he reportedly said, "People are going to think I'm gay now."
On the TV show, producers left in comments from Brooks where he praises the male physique of fellow houseguests Frank Eudy and Paulie Calafiore.

Brooks's devout straightness even sparked Twitter users to create the hashtag #NotGayCorey, Mic.com points out.
On top of that, fans have been reeling over a story Brooks cheerfully told about a friend buying a goat and pouring lighter fluid on it to set it on fire. You can watch a clip of Brooks telling that tale below.
Fans are probably keeping an eye on Brooks because it was reported before "Big Brother" 18 even started that he used anti-gay language in tweets made years ago.
"Big Brother" producers have been very aware of casting accepting and diverse players ever since the disastrous "Big Brother" 15, which made headlines after a number of houseguests were caught on the live feeds using racial slurs and homophobic rhetoric. The problematic language forced CBS to put a warning before each episode back in 2013.
Mic.com spoke with Andy Herren, the winner of "Big Brother" 15 who is openly gay, about Brooks' comments.
"Do I think Corey is an evil homophobe? No," Herren told the website. "What he is, though, is just as bad: He's gay-phobic. He'll joke about finding guys attractive, but then when anyone insinuates that he could be gay he goes into a panic and does whatever he can to make sure people know he isn't gay, like being gay is something horrifying."
He added: "He also throws around 'that's so gay' when talking negatively about things, which, in 2016, needs to stop. To Corey, being gay is something that he is deeply scared of and doesn't understand, and his ignorance on the subject is rather appalling. Ignorance is the key word here. I don't think Corey has a lot of hate in his heart or anything, but I do think he has a lot to learn when it comes to dealing with homosexuality."
