Bailey House is excited to announce the selection of our CEO, Gina Quattrochi, as a recipient of two awards of distinction in honor of her advocacy and work as a renowned activist and leader in the effort to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Quattrochi has been selected for recognition by the New York City Health Department at this year's World AIDS Day event and by Bridging Access to Care at their 2nd Annual World AIDS Day Benefit Gala & Silent Auction.

During her 25 years as CEO of Bailey House, Quattrochi's work and advocacy have helped establish the link between homelessness and HIV incidence and the need for stable housing for access to healthcare and improved health outcomes. In shifting the way policy makers view HIV incidence and prevention, she has created a new paradigm in the public discourse around addressing these epidemics.

Each year the Health Department honors individuals and organizations that have played a key role in the response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The award will be presented to individuals and organizations doing exceptional HIV/AIDS work in New York. The event will be held at the New York City AIDS Memorial on December 1 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in collaboration with the New York City AIDS Memorial Board of Directors, the End AIDS NY 2020 Coalition, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the New York State Department of Health.

In celebration of their 30th anniversary, Bridging Access to Care is gathering a select group of individuals at their 2nd Annual World AIDS Day Benefit Awards Gala & Silent Auction in the Gold Room at the Brooklyn College Conference Center on Friday, December 2 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Bridging Access to Care will present the World AIDS Day Community Leadership Awards to 30 community leaders working to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic, particularly individuals who have made significant accomplishments in the areas of HIV/AIDS care, treatment and support in New York City.

We are proud to count our CEO among this outstanding group of individuals and organizations selected for recognition based on their track record of success and achievements made toward ending the AIDS epidemic in New York City. The Bailey House Board of Directors and Staff congratulate Quattrochi on her achievements and applaud the critical work being done by other community leaders recognized by New York City Department of Health and Bridging Access to Care.

For the past 33 years, Bailey House has been the leader in addressing poverty, homelessness and access to healthcare among people living with HIV/AIDS. Acting upon the principle that housing is a human right, in 1983 Bailey House became the first provider of housing and critical services for homeless HIV-positive individuals. Today, armed with the knowledge that permanent housing is a proven structural intervention that improves access to healthcare while reducing the spread of HIV, Bailey House's mission is to transform the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses through housing, health services and community support.
