Pornhub Joins Fight For Net Neutrality: 'No One in the Porn Industry Ever Yells Slower, Slower, Slower!'

New York, NY (June 14, 2017) - On Wednesday, Pornhub, the premier online destination for adult entertainment, announced it has joined the Internet-Wide Day of Action on July 12, to protest the FCC's attack on net neutrality.

Speaking with tech blog Motherboard, Pornhub's VP Corey Price said that without net neutrality, companies like Verizon, Comcast and AT&T would be free to enact 'slow lanes" and force people to pay more for certain websites.

"No one in the porn industry ever yells 'slower, slower, slower,'" he said. "We're much more accustomed to 'faster, faster, faster.' Here at Pornhub, we want to keep it that way."

As part of its participation, Pornhub will band together with tech companies and activists, including Amazon, Etsy, Reddit, Mozilla and several others, and prominently display a message on its website to show support and create awareness for the importance of net neutrality.

The protest day is set five days before the first deadline for comments on the FCC's proposal to create more control over what is seen and done online. This reprises a 2014 protest that ultimately led to stronger regulations around net neutrality in the Communications Act in 2015.

The day of action will focus on grassroots mobilization, with public interest groups activating their members and major web platforms providing their visitors with tools to contact Congress and the FCC. Since launching on June 6, the organization has mobilized more than 60 public interest groups and major companies to support of the effort.
