Shawn Mendes Talks Haircut, Career in WSJ Interview

It seems that every time Shawn Mendes works out, a camera is nearby, such as this past Friday when he headed to his West Hollywood gym looking ripped in a black tank top and shorts while holding a phone and wearing ear buds. He also showed off his butterfly tattoo on his left arm.

And amid rumors that the 24-year old superstar is dating his chiropractor Dr Jocelyne Miranda, 51, Mendes did an interview with the Wall Street Journal where he explained, amongst other things, why he recently shaved his head. And judging from media reaction, it was the haircut seen around the world. I think everyone should know what they look like with a shaved head," the 24-year told last week to journalist Lane Florsheim. "I also was just feeling this urge to just shake myself up a little bit."

"The hair is just a small change in a year of major transformation for Mr. Mendez. Last July halfway through his WonderWorld tour, he canceled his remaining dates to focus on his mental health, a move that made international headlines," writes the WSJ.

Mendes has been seeing therapist while spending time with family and friends in LA. But, he added, he's getting back to the studio. "I'm at the point where I'm like, Okay, I'm ready to start making some songs, which is exciting," he said.
