The groundbreaking but short-lived television show that authentically portrayed the lives and loves of gay Black men is poised for a return, creator Patrik-Ian Polk announced at the "I AM" Awards.
That Grape Juice reported, "Speaking at We Speak Out USA's 2nd Annual I Am Awards, the show's creator [Patrik-Ian] Polk accepted an honor and thrilled onlookers with the announcement: 'I will say I am very happy to confirm that there is indeed more Noah's Arc coming.'"
Polk reiterated the news in a subsequent Instagram post.
Fans rejoiced.
"The early 20 year old, closeted, version of me is silently screaming in excitement," one comment on Polk's post said. "For MANY of us LGBTQ black men, this show coincided with our 'coming out' even if it was just to ourselves."
Wrote another: "In tears. Wow. The most exciting news."
The series ran for two seasons on Logo, from 2005-2006, with a followup feature film, "Jumping the Broom," hitting big screens in 2008.
Though the series had a short run on TV, its impact was deeply felt and fans have been waiting for more. Two years ago they got their wish (in a way) with a reunion that was streamed on YouTube.
Now, it looks as though fans will have the real deal to look forward to, and they lost no time letting their joy be heard. One fan tweeted a video of Polk letting the awards audience in on the news.
Other fans were just as enthused.
While no definitive date has been announced for the show's return, reports said that it would be some time later this year.
