Watch: Fox News Host Dismiss George Santos' Claim He Didn't Know What OnlyFans Was
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
"Oh, you just can't tell the truth," said Fox News host Kennedy to GOP congressman George Santos yesterday in response to a question about OnlyFans.
Part of the damning ethics report released on Thursday claims that Santos spent campaign funding on an OnlyFans account, which was clearly in violation of campaign funding guidelines.
That is only the tip of the iceberg in Santos' ethical issues, which led the out, 35-year old congressman to say he will not run for re-election next term. His biggest hurdle, though, is that the ethics report has lead to a formal request for expulsion from the House.
"The top Republican on the Ethics Committee has formally filed a resolution to expel embattled Rep. George Santos," writes the Daily Mail.
"Rep. Michael Guest, R-Miss., said the evidence uncovered by his committee is 'more than sufficient to warrant punishment and the most appropriate punishment, expulsion. The resolution is expected to come up for a vote after the Thanksgiving recess next week."
Under fire, Santos wrote on X (ex-Twitter): "My year from Hell. Running for office was never a dream or goal, but when the opportunity to do so came I felt the time to serve my country was now,' Santos wrote on X."
But what's trending today is a moment from Kennedy's show on Fox News yesterday when she asked Santos about OnlyFans.
"Santos, dressed as a Willy Wonka superfan, laughed the horrifying imagery off, saying it'd been a mere three weeks since he learned about this crazy business. 'I was oblivious to the whole concept,' he said," reports The Big Lead. "Kennedy, under her breath but not really under her breath, responded: 'You just can't tell the truth.'"
When the video was shown to Santos' former communications director Naysa Woomer on CNN.
Woomer told CNN's Brian Mattingly: "I was listening to the interview in an earpiece with when Kennedy said that, and I tried so hard not to laugh loud enough for audio to pick it up because I thought okay, here's another lie. Because I mean, I hate to say it and now that the report indicates that he in fact knew about OnlyFans because, you know, he used campaign funds to open an account."
Woomer concluded: "I could see an expulsion being brought to the floor after the Thanksgiving break."
