Valentine's Day has come early with Colman Domingo's sweet story about how he and his husband met in the wildest of ways. Domingo told the story in a recent interview.

E! reported that Domingo was appearing on the Feb. 2 episode of UK chat program "The Graham Norton Show" when he told the tale of how a mundane errand – a trip to a drug store for a facial mask – turned into a life-changing encounter.

Domingo set the scene for the story, saying, "You're in Berkeley, California in 2005 and you're minding your business going into a Walgreens."

The "Euphoria" actor went on to narrate, "So I'm walking in and I see someone walking out" – Raúl, who, Domingo said, had "beautiful hair down to here, lip piercing... beautiful, beautiful!"

"I see this guy and we look at each other," Domingo continued. "I'm like, 'Oh my God.' And I'm on the phone and I come outside and we look at each other and he's talking to this young woman and she seemed to be angry about something."

Raúl felt the spark, too.

"They walk off down the street but he keeps looking back," Domingo related, "and I wave, but he just keeps going and then I'm just dumbfounded."

So shaken was Domingo by the passing moment that he pondered returning to the same spot in a week's time, just in case the stranger he's just connected with might return.

"I'm that kind of hopeless romantic," Domingo added.

But he didn't have to wait a week. Again, a mundane task turned into a consequential moment: Logging on to Craigslist to look at listings for a secondhand computer, Domingo instead found himself contemplating a different use for the site.

"I thought maybe I'll place one of those 'Missed Connections' ads" in search of Raúl, Domingo said. "I wondered if they work, because I would read them on the subway."

He was about to get the answer to that question.

"I go to page two of them..." Domingo went on to say. "I see: 'Saw you outside of Walgreens. Berkeley.'" The description fit Domingo to a T, right down to his "fauxhawk."

"It was 2005," Domingo said, in explanation of his hairstyle, as the audience laughed.

"He placed an ad for me two hours before," the "Fear the Walking Dead" star exclaimed, holding up two fingers for emphasis. "I jumped up. I was like, 'Are you kidding me? That's me!'"

Three days later, they went out on a date and ended up back at Raúl's place.

"I was trying to be a good boy and go home," Domingo recalled. "He said, 'Can you stay over?' I said, 'Sure but let's just cuddle.'"

That cuddle eventually turned into marriage – an eventuality Domingo said he intuited right away. "I thought he was asleep," Domingo said, adding that it was "4:00 in the morning. I couldn't sleep and I said, 'I think I love you and you're about to change my life.' And we've been together for almost 19 years."

The studio audience erupted in cheers and applause as the story reached its romantic climax.
