Former Gay Porn Star's Boyfriend Pleads Not Guilty to Child Porn Charges

A psychiatrist at the University of California at San Francisco who was arrested last week with his boyfriend, a former gay porn star who performed under the name Blu Kennedy, pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of possession of child porn, ABC 7 News reports.

Billy Lockhart, 36, a resident at the college's department of psychiatry, is accused of having about 1,500 images and 280 videos of child porn - some clips showing infants as young as 6 to 8 months old, according to prosecutors. Lockhart and his boyfriend Benjamin Martin, 33, were both arrested last week.

Martin, who faces one count of possessing child porn, was scheduled to appear in court this week, according to ABC 7 News.

After posting a $155,000 bail, Lockhart is now out of custody, however prosecutors argued Monday that his bail be increased to $300,000.

"Not only did Mr. Lockhart post offensive, illegal child pornography, but the sheer volume merits increased bail," Assistant District Attorney Adam Maldonado said.

Maldonado added that in addition to the child porn collection of pictures and videos, the psychiatrist also had stories about children being raped and information on how to carry out the assault. The prosecutor also said there were conversations with others about exploiting children, according to ABC 7 News.

Though the judge kept the bail at $155,000, she said she'd be open to prosecutors filing a formal motion. As a condition of his release, the judge ordered that Lockhart is not allowed to use the Internet, have contact with children, or be on the UCSF campus, where he's currently suspended.

He will return to to court for a pre-hearing conference on June 21.
