Flower Freshness, and 7 More Reasons to Gift Tweedle Farms CBD This Holiday
Kelsy Chauvin READ TIME: 4 MIN. SPONSORED
The 2020 hemp harvests are in, delivering fresh CBD flowers and other products for the holidays. Tweedle Farms, Oregon's first farm-to-table cannabis cultivator, is ready to share some of its best goods and seasonal specials. And even though Tweedle's customers usually buy CBD flowers, edibles, and topicals for themselves, some are eager to share its benefits with their loved ones.
Of course, not everyone knows why CBD is worth trying, how to use it, or why it helps but won't get you high. So with a little education, sharing some of CBD's wellness may be the best gift you can give. Here are eight reasons why CBD is the holiday prezzie of 2020.
New Flower Strains Launching Weekly
The year's fall hemp crops are in, and Tweedle Farms is rolling out fresh flower strains every week of December and into early 2021. Jason Evans, Tweedle's co-owner and co-founder, says 2020 was a bumper year for the company and its sister farms. And since Tweedle specializes in CBD-only flower (among its other CBD products), now is prime time to sample naturally grown, non-intoxicating smokable or vapable buds – before they're gone.
"People may not realize that [cannabis] is a seasonal product," says Evans. "The same way that you only get certain fruits and vegetables during certain times of the year, there are certain strains that sell out, especially if it's super popular." He suggests signing up for Tweedle's e-newsletter for weekly new-flower releases.
Tweedle Farms Holiday Specials
As a seasonal treat, Tweedle Farms is now selling $99 CBD gift boxes – featuring either smokable, edible, or topical products. Evans says there's no better deal right now to sample various CBD goods at such a low price. The only caveat is that Tweedle is selling only a limited number of each gift box until they're sold out, so act fast.
The company also is offering new strains of CBD flower and Pure CBD infused in either hemp-seed oil or MCT oil (coconut oil). Unlike its other oils, Pure CBD also will be sold in higher concentrations, up to 2,000 milligrams of CBD isolate in one 30-milliliter bottle.
Cannabinoids Are for Everyone
Almost every living creature has an endocannabinoid system, considered the body's master regulatory system. CBD, or cannabidiol, helps support the "EC" system and its function to keep the body running well. All human bodies are different, but all can potentially enjoy the benefits of CBD, whether it's reducing anxiety and inflammation; improving sleep; or alleviating pain. It also been shown to help children who have epilepsy, as well as for pets.
CBD Is for Wellness, Not Getting High
Since 2014, American farmers have been able to grow hemp legally. In basic terms, hemp is a varietal of cannabis that's not hallucinogenic because it contains CBD, CBG, CBN, and other types of cannabinoids; unlike marijuana, a cannabis plant that contains high-making THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). So when you buy a CBD product, you can buy either "full-spectrum" products with trace amounts of THC (less than .3 percent); or "broad-spectrum" products with no THC. Either way, if it's a hemp-derived CBD product, it won't get you high.
Something for Everyone
So many CBD products are on the market it can be dizzying to settle on the right one to give. Evans has a few ideas for gifting CBD goods to your friends and family. For instance: Are they athletic and maybe coping with exercise-related pain? Perhaps give them a CBD topical like a muscle rub, massage oil, or spray. If they're into health and beauty, try a lip balm, bath bomb, or transdermal lotion. If they're OK with smoking, perhaps share one of Tweedle Farms's terpene-rich flowers or pre-rolls to puff or vape. If they love sweets, try CBD edibles like mints or gummies.
Talk About CBD
To be sure you're heading in the best direction, Evans recommends talking to the person you'd like to give a CBD product before you purchase it. But even if you want to surprise that special someone, do a little homework yourself to make sure you're buying reliable CBD goods with real lab analyses.
Beware, he says, of CBD sold in random places. "You generally don't go to a gas station to get high-quality CBD products," says Evans. He adds that Tweedle Farms is always available to share CBD tips and knowledge by phone or online chat, whether or not you're planning to buy from their farm.
Make Your Own, on the Cheap
Because Tweedle Farms sells CBD flower, customers can take advantage of great prices on "smalls" and "shake" – that is, smaller buds and plant trimmings – to make their own oils, edibles, and more. You can even find recipes for homemade CBD-infused MCT oil and tasty CBD-infused tomato and strawberry crostini on Tweedle's website.
Because 2020 Has Been Rough
The full array of health and wellness benefits are still being discovered, but seasoned CBD fans agree that it helps reduce anxiety and other stress-related symptoms. In the year of the pandemic, why not give it a whirl?
Disclaimer: Tweedle Farms offers legal industrial hemp that is grown pursuant to a cultivation license from the Oregon Department of Agriculture. Oregon has implemented an agricultural pilot program under Section 7606 of the 2014 U.S. Farm Bill. The Farm Bill defines ''industrial hemp'' as the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of such plant, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis. None of the products listed on the Website have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration ("FDA").
